Proverbs - Open Your Mouth

Proverbs 31:8-9

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
A Mother’s Exhortation

Our children must be instructed in standing up for those who are being victimized.  They need to be bold and speak up.   They must open their mouth.  Are we showing our children this example?  Do we stand up for someone when they are being devoured in a conversation?  Are we doing what we can do for the unborn children that are appointed to destruction?  Do they see us evaluating things righteously so that everyone is treated fairly?  As we open our mouths and instruct our children to do the same the poor and needy will have someone to stand up for them and those that are not heard will have a voice.

Knowing God - The Lord Justifies

Isa 50:8

He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

The Lord Justifies

The Lord is the One who justifies us.  He decides what is right and He decides what is wrong.  If people think we are wrong and the Lord says we are justified in our actions, we are justified.  If people say we are justified in what we do but the Lord says it is wrong, it is wrong.  When others contend with us and challenge us, it is of the upmost importance to be in a place where we have sought God’s judgment on the matter.  When others oppose us and God says we are justified in what we do, we can gently forgive and resist the opposition and not be so easily shaken or confused.  The Lord wants our lives to be lives that He builds according to His leading and laws.  We will not suffer needless self doubt when we have sought the Lord on a matter and are walking in obedience to Him.

Proverbs - Justice and the Poor

Proverbs 29:14

The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

When we stand up for someone that is unable to defend themselves, our position is established for ever.  There are those who get the brunt of the deal over and over and most people don’t have time to help them get justice.  We need to be women who consider those who cannot stand up for themselves.  Be attentive to injustice whether the person can offer any help to the cause or not.  Don’t be a respecter of persons.  Execute a right call for whoever is before you.  This will show that you are having your life ruled by the King who changes not and the compassion you show will glorify your Father in heaven.
