Ps 37:13
The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that
his day is coming.
In this
psalm we read the verse before that…”the
wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.”
The Lord tells us that he will laugh at him. The Lord knows that all that the
wicked wish upon God’s people is nothing compared to the Lord’s ability to
defend and bless. The threats and vile
comments thrown at those who seek to honor the Lord are heard by their
Defender. The Lord sees the final
chapter. Even in the time of the Great
Tribulation where His people will go through incredible suffering and persecution,
the Lord knows that the cries of those who have suffered at the hand of the
wicked, hasten the coming judgment and finality for both the wicked and those
who are His. We must get our eyes on the
One who sees every wicked plot, hears every threatening word, and remember not
to take vengeance. Vengeance belongs to
the Lord and He will repay. We must
forgive, love those who hate us, do good to those who do evil to us, bless those
who curse and commit our souls to a faithful Creator who sees that their day is
coming.
