Proverbs 21:12
The
righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth
the wicked for their wickedness.
Wicked
people can be rather discouraging at times.
When we see the choices, destruction and reaping, we can hang our heads
down in weariness. We may even want to
ignore them and try to live in the safety of our dwelling places enjoying a
home where we are seeking to do that which is righteous in His eyes. The Lord wants us to consider the house of
the wicked. He wants us to learn from
their bad examples. How are their
marriages? What is the climate of their
conversations like? How are their long
term relationships? What about their
financial standing? Is there joy
there? Are things more important than
people? Are people listened to? Do the children sense the love God has for
them? Even if the house of the wicked
seems to flourish at first the house will be overthrown for its
wickedness. Men are like grass and the
glory of man like the flower of the grass.
The grass withers and the flower fades away but the man who does the
will of the Lord shall abide forever.
