Proverbs 26:12
Seest thou
a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Self
confidence is a highly esteemed attribute these days. God wants us to be God-confident. Self confidence causes us to be fools. We will be blinded to possible mistakes and
other options. When we are humble in our
estimation of our understanding we can be wiser and receive advice and
direction that enables us to build our homes strong. In the midst of conflict it is a wise woman
who considers that her understanding may be misguided. She is a woman who says to herself, “What if
I am missing information?” She is also
one who wants to know the truth and not just give her take on matters. She is seeking to love and find the answer
that would most glorify the Lord. She
knows that she is one person and others have resources and perspectives she
does not have. Let us not be wise in our
own conceit, becoming foolish women tearing down our homes with our own hands.
