Proverbs 13:5
A
righteous man hateth lying:
but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to
shame.
If we are
longing to live the way the Lord wants us to live we will have an inner
repulsion against the misrepresentation of the truth. We are not going to just politely acknowledge
something is not true, but we will be people who have positioned ourselves
against deceit and lies. They are not
just a casual obstruction of justice but lies, in and of themselves, are not
welcome in us or around us. The smallest
compromise of the truth will not sit with us. Just as if we ‘hate’ some sort of
food and will not eat it, and if we ‘accidentally’ put some in our mouth we
would spit it out abruptly and passionately.
So, too, we should handle any sort of lies we hear or speak in our own
lives.
