Proverbs 13:21-22
Evil pursueth sinners:
but to the
righteous good shall be repayed.
A good man leaveth an inheritance
to his children's children:
and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for
the just.
Choosing
to walk in obedience to God, leads to paths that are less complicated than the
path of sin. When we are doing those
things that are good and righteous we not only enjoy our lives more but leave
an inheritance to the next generation. I
have attended many funerals and find it quite interesting that a person’s
character and lifestyle are remembered MORE than belongings, achievements or
notoriety. Our example is what will
affect our children and our children’s children.
As
we seek the Lord to please and honor Him with our lives, the generational
impact is far greater than we consider in the present. Leaving a godly heritage to our family is the
most valuable inheritance they could have.
Don’t ever diminish or consider a life lived for Christ as anything less
than an investment with great returns.
Our current choices will go into the next generation and the one after
that. To the righteous, good shall be
repaid and a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.
