Proverbs 22:28
Remove
not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
The
ancient landmark seems like a strange thing to talk about but these landmarks
established boundaries and memorials that were pertinent to all the generations
that followed. The next generations were
not to go about living without taking into consideration the experiences and
lines drawn from those who had gone before them. How about your parents? Did they teach you things that you should be
implementing into your life or have you removed these ancient landmarks? Were there disciplines and values they gave
you that you should be careful to uphold and pass on to the next generation?
Going back even further, let us not move the ancient landmarks given to us by
Moses, David and Paul. When we approach
God’s boundaries handed down to us by men who were moved upon by the Holy
Spirit, don’t move them based on culture of bias. Receive God’s boundaries. His lines fall unto us in pleasant places.
