Ps
105:43
And he brought forth his people with joy, and
his chosen with gladness:
It is wonderful to
realize that when the Lord wants to deliver us, He intends the deliverance to
result in joy and gladness. Oftentimes
it is difficult at first to leave a land of slavery in our lives. We might have a trademark sin that we keep
falling into and it almost feels comforting because it is so familiar. When we stop running to that idol and are
starved of its familiar comfort, we may find ourselves frustrated, angry, lost
and sad. This is predictable and it is
temporary. When we are finally freed
from the sin’s constant bombardment of promises of pleasure, we will find
ourselves glad and joyful. The Lord will
bring his people out of these lands of slavery to a place where enduring joy
thrives. Remember, sorrow may last for a
moment but joy comes in the morning.
