Proverbs 27:25
The hay
appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself,
and herbs
of the mountains are gathered.
There are
some beautiful hills by my house that turn so green in the spring they almost
seem to be alive with color. The cows
graze on them and the brilliant green is practically hard to look at. As time goes on the summer sun comes and the
green turns to a dull brown awaiting fire danger signs and decay. No matter how beautiful things can be in this
life, all flesh is as grass and the glory of man is as the flower of the
grass. Things are fleeting and our joy
and purposes must not be in the temporal.
We should invest in that which remains – the seed of the Word of God and
our relationship with Him. Sisters, let
us pursue that which abides and stays alive.
Let us rid our days of temporal pursuits that amount to little and fill
them with that which remains.
