Proverbs 19:9
A false
witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
We mustn’t
be too troubled when someone speaks a lie about us. The lie will not stand although it looks a
bit intimidating at first. Lies are much
like helium balloons. They can dance and move and appear to have life, but
after time the gas loses its properties to sustain the weight of the balloon
and the balloon descends lifelessly and ready to be discarded. The Lord will deal with lies, and the person
who is speaking them. A false witness
will not be unpunished. People who go
around propagating lies will perish. The
lies will not stand the test of time and truth will endure. We must not allow ourselves to be intimidated
by these people or their lies. We must
continue patiently doing the right thing and trust the Lord to defend us. He will judge the liar and He will not allow
it go unpunished.
