Proverbs 16:5
Every one that is proud in heart is an
abomination to the Lord:
though
hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
When people vote on something they can
think that they are right. The majority
does not determine righteousness.
Sometimes the most charismatic and influential people can steer opinion
in a direction that is contrary to the Lord.
With the humble there is wisdom and an ability to choose what is right
apart from others agreeing with us. When
we are making decision in arrogance, something within us wants to get
affirmation from others. When we are
doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord, we can stand alone. It is important for us to submit these
choices to the Lord and believe He is pleased in order to stand up against
‘hand joining in hand’.
