Proverbs - Thinking Foolishly

Proverbs 24:8-9

He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Someone who plans to do what God says we should seek to avoid shall be called a mischievous person.  These are not to be our heroes.  There are some novels and screenplays that involve such a mastermind of wickedness you can wonder if such ideas were never to be thought out and put in print.  The Lord tells us here that even the thought of foolishness is sin.  We can be living our lives and suddenly we get a thought to do something foolish.  If we pay attention to this thought and begin to devise how we would do it, God calls this sin.  When those thoughts come in we must take our thoughts and begin to control them with the help of the Lord Jesus.  We have been given the mind of Christ. Let’s use it.  Forsake foolishness and you will live.  Confess any sort of imaginations or fantasies that involve being a foolish woman.  Think on the things that are pure and devise ways to do good.
