Isa
19:2
And I will set the Egyptians
against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and
every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against
kingdom.
The
Lord is at work even among those who have set him at a distance and have
decided to run their own lives. He will
set person against person to manifest the confusion and division present within
their lives. The unity we all love and
seek can only come through the Holy Spirit and submission to the head of the
body; Jesus Christ. When people decide
to do what is right in their own eyes, agreement and unity is virtually
impossible. They may walk agreed for a
short time but the unraveling of agreement is inevitable. God will intervene and God will set one
against another with the hope of repentance and submission towards Him. He is the One who is intricately involved in
the affairs of man and it is His purposes that He brings about. Our God is not just the God of unity but the
God of division when hand joins with hand to bring about wickedness or the
oppression of His people.
