Proverbs 17:2
A wise
servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame,
and shall
have part of the inheritance among the brethren.
The key to being raised up in
responsibility and service is what we do, not what position we currently
hold. Here the Lord is letting us know
that promotion will be given to those who can carry out the task best. Here we see that we can be given
opportunities that seem reserved for the elite, by being someone who doesn’t
cause shame and walks in wisdom.
In our home, workplace or
ministry we must make it a goal to walk in wisdom and bring honor to those who
rule over us. When we do this we are a
blessing to those we serve and when our name comes up, faithfulness and
diligence will be associated with it.
