Knowing God - Pulling Away May Enable Us to Pour Out

Matt 5:1

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

Jesus saw the multitudes at this time and went up into a mountain.  After he settled himself his disciples came to him.   We can learn about life from Jesus’ example.  He moved up and away from the multitudes at times and gathered with some of his closest, like-minded friends.  Sometimes we can see the multitudes of people, tasks, trials, responsibilities and burdens and choose to immerse ourselves in them even more.  There is a time to go up and away from the multitude and see what really follows us.  There is a time to get together with people who are committed to us and the things the Lord is doing through us.   To isolate ourselves in order to avoid responsibility may be a very bad thing but to isolate ourselves to face responsibility may not only be good but necessary.
