Proverbs - Conflict May Be a Symptom of Hatred

Proverbs 10:12

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

If you find yourself stirring up conflict with others you might very well have hatred in your heart.  Maybe you hate the person you are striving with and maybe you hate someone else.  Sometimes we may even hate ourselves and are taking it out on other people.  We may even be doing something we hate and we know the Lord has asked us to stop and this hatred can stir up strife and anger within us resulting in strife with others around us.  We can ask the Spirit of God to search us and show us any hatred that we might be peacemakers rather than strivers.

Love covers all sins.  It doesn’t mean you don’t see sin nor confront sin. This means that you don’t want to expose sin or exaggerate its effects in someone’s life.  You don’t bring it up over and over. You don’t talk to others about it. You don’t use it against the other person.  You seek to have mercy and understanding in regards to the sin.

Let’s ask the Lord today to cleanse us of any hatred and cause His love to flow through us unhindered.
