Proverbs - Getting Advice

Proverbs 15:22

 Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Our society promotes and affirms independence.  A self-made woman who can think alone is extolled as virtuous and deemed successful.  The Lord wants us to be women who are open to ideas, visions and strategies from Him, yet open to good hearty counsel from those He has put in our lives.  We can learn things by experience but we can learn things through other people’s experience as well.  Usually each person has a perspective and thought on how things should be done.  When we listen to a multitude of counsel we can come before the Lord and ask Him which pieces of the input He desires us to take in and utilize in seeing purposes established.  He doesn’t want us disappointed because of lack of counsel.  The Holy Spirit flows in the midst of seekers clothed in humility.  May our purposes be established in the multitude of counselors.
