Ex 17:14
And the
Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in
the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from
under heaven.
The Lord
told Moses to write down about the victory they had over the Amalekites. He also wanted it read out loud to the person
who was used in the victory. We learn
that the Lord knows we need reminders and records of the victories and battles
the Lord has taken us through. The Lord
knows our frame and He knows we tend to forget the things we should remember
and remember the things we should forget.
The Lord will speak to us to record certain battles and their
outcomes. Have you taken the time to recount
a victory the Lord has given you? Have
you considered writing it down for the generations that are yet to come? The Lord wanted Moses to do it immediately
afterwards. He didn’t want Moses going
on to the next thing without considering the great victory the Lord had given
them. Even the Lord stopped after each
day of creation and beheld that it was good.
Let us take heed and recount some of the great things the Lord has done
for us.
