Proverbs 3:7-8
Be not wise in thine own eyes:
fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and
marrow to thy bones.
Again
we are told not to be wise in our own eyes so we can be reasonably sure that we
tend to think we are right and must humble ourselves in the presence of the One
who has all wisdom. The fear of the Lord
will help keep us humble in mind. When
we know that He alone has the perfect answers we will be less likely to exalt
our own understanding and seek Him all the more. It will result in our frame being strong and
unlike osteoporosis which deteriorates the very structure of our being, we will
be able stand against the evil one, get up from falls without serious spiritual
injury and be able to support others as well.
