Proverbs 5:1-2
My son, attend
unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Wisdom
demands attention. If we go through life
haphazardly making decisions we will end up with a life not steadfastly built
on wisdom. Are you attentive today and
willing to stop something midstream if wisdom tells you to?
In
order to understand life, relationships, finances etc., we must bow down our
ear. That means that we must listen with
a humble state of mind. Our ears should
bow down and throw out our preconceived ideas allowing ourselves to receive
instruction from our Maker.
If
we want our lips to speak things that make sense, if we want our lips to speak
things that our children can build their lives upon, we must have this sort of
attentive humility in approaching our lives.
