Proverbs
10:13-14
In the lips of him that hath understanding
wisdom is found:
but a rod is for the back of him that is void
of understanding.
Wise men
lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
What we say tells a lot of who we
are. Wise people don’t have to tell
everyone what they think or what they know.
They store up insight, observations and counsel. Wise people not only know what to say but the
timing of when to say it. In order to
speak wisdom we must have wisdom. This
wisdom comes from the Only Wise God and through the counsel of His Word. When you read His Word ask Him to give you
insight into His heart, His judgments and His ways. You will then speak with great understanding.
When
a foolish person speaks, they are actually sowing seeds of destruction. When we act as foolish women and are tearing
down our home with our own words we are destroying the very home we are called
to build. Oh Lord, help us be careful
with our tongues and put a guard over our mouths. Let the meditations of my heart and the words
of my mouth be acceptable in Your sight O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
