Proverbs
10:11
The mouth of a righteous man is a well of
life:
but violence covereth
the mouth of the wicked.
A
well is something which gets its water source from deep below the surface. To have this mouth that is like a well we
must be ladies who go below the surface of Christian values to the very heart
of Christ Himself. Do you take the time
to ponder on His character? Do you seek
Him for His purposes for your life in the things that come your way? Do you ask Him to open your eyes to His heart
on a matter? The Lord Jesus says in Luke 6:45, “A good man out of the good
treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of
the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the
abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
What are you filling up with before you see your husband at the end of
the day? What are you putting into your
heart in the morning before the children wake up? What are you meditating on throughout your
day? You will see a direct link between
what you put in and what comes out.
People
go to a well for refreshment and to quench their thirst. Can people come to you and receive from your
mouth things that their soul is longing for?
Can your children come to you with a frustration, bad attitude or wrong
conclusion and your words can wash away the impurities and set them right on
track? In the midst of a conversation
polluted with cynicism and judgment do your words well up with gentle rebuke
washing away the seeds of division in the body of Christ? Oh Lord help our mouths to be like wells
today.
