Proverbs 18:15
The heart
of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
If we are
to be the prudent women that the Lord is making us into, we must get and
seek. Women are good at getting and
seeking. Sometimes we want to get that
new outfit or seek for the best deal.
The Lord has definitely put into us some sort of inner desire to go
after things. The problem is what sort
of things are we going after? We need to
get knowledge and we need to seek knowledge.
We must humble ourselves and realize that the knowledge we already have
is not enough. There are situations in
our lives where we find ourselves a bit ill quipped to respond and decide on
the course that the Lord would want us to take.
We mustn’t get frustrated. We
must position ourselves like we would to go shopping. If we needed a new outfit, we would not
necessarily dread it, but go out there looking for the right price, right look
and go home happy to have something fresh and new to wear. If we need knowledge about something we must
look to His Word, godly counsel, pastoral teaching and prayer as the ‘stores’
where we would not just take the first thing off the rack but try things on
trusting we will find the perfect fit.
Lord, help us not be panicked when we lack knowledge but know that you
lay up sound wisdom for the righteous.
If we seek we will find.
