Proverbs - Giving and Blessings

Proverbs 22:9

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

A bountiful eye is one that looks to needs and wants to give and meet those needs.  Our ability to give begins with what we are looking at.  Are we sensitive to the needs or problems others are having?   Do we only see our own needs or, being a part of the body of Christ, do we see others and seek to be used by the Lord to be used to meet their needs?  If we are like this we are promised to be blessed.  This man gives HIS bread to the poor.  He doesn’t just go buy extra bread for the poor, but gives of his own bread.  As we ask the Lord to give us this day our daily bread, we might consider asking how we might give of some of that to another.
